Due to an all-day shower, 1488 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at St. Janson's Park. Ocin
decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Hollind - Lindhblad, Pongia, Eckskog - Coens, Courty,
Lund, Forsell, Sörensson - Evergren, Liedblad.
Rockers had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Santasus
- Válido, Watson, Selhami, Cheyne - Saldanha, Gruber, Unis, Ismail - Hennesey, Meyers.
Ocin could have put themselves
ahead in the 10th minute but
Johan Liedblad missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. The visitors' central defense should have had no trouble clearing
the pass to
Malcolm Evergren, but the Ocin player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! The
visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, in the 26th minute,
Jozef Meyers found himself alone with the keeper.
Martin Hollind made a great block, though. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Rockers's
Sleiman Ismail a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind in the 35th minute. Ocin's
Anders 'Göbbis' Sörensson had to leave the pitch and the team had no one left to send in! 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Ocin, bringing their
ball possession to 80 percent, dominated the battle.
After 49 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges
followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Malcolm Evergren might have resulted in another goal for Ocin. However,
Carles Santasus made a spectacular save. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Ocin's
Frederik Lund putting the lead up to 2 - 0. When
Sleiman Ismail made yet another studs-first tackle in the game's 65th minute, the referee was obliged to book the Rockers player for the
second time, sending him off the pitch.
Davy Coens had a fantastic opportunity to put Ocin up another goal in the 68th minute, but he fired just over the crossbar. Rockers's
Robério Saldanha was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the enemy box -
Phil Hennesey managed to kick one of them into the net for 2 - 1 in the 78th minute. Ocin held the ball, with a clear 77 percent of
possession.
Ocin's top performer was clearly
Philippe Courty. However,
Johan Liedblad made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Rockers player was without a doubt
Jozef Meyers. However,
George Watson made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 1.
